Yes — Inter is one of the eight families bundled with the plugin, so its actual font file is embedded into your .pptx and the deck renders in Inter on machines that have never installed it. Without embedding, Inter would be remapped to Calibri, which is what most exporters do silently.

A .pptx normally stores only the font name. When the file is opened on a machine without that font, PowerPoint substitutes something it does have — and the substitute has different metrics, so lines rewrap, headlines overflow and your layout drifts. Embedding the font file removes the guesswork.

The families that ship with Windows and Office: Arial, Calibri, Cambria, Candara, Consolas, Courier New, Georgia, Segoe UI, Tahoma, Times New Roman, Trebuchet MS and Verdana. They also all carry full Cyrillic coverage, which is why the converter falls back to them when your text needs it.

If your text contains Cyrillic and the face that would otherwise be written into the file is not guaranteed to cover it, the converter forces a family that does and records the swap. That prevents the classic failure where a deck arrives as rows of empty boxes. CJK typography needs a font that covers those scripts — embed it rather than relying on substitution.
